50 Round Course of Fire

The Pistol Skill builder at LC&SA is intended for shooters who wish to become more proficient with their handguns. Courses of fire are made up of a number of ‘strings’ requiring 8 to 18 rounds to be fired. The strings of fire involve engaging silhouette targets from close range (as close as 2 yards) to typical defensive shooting distances of up to 15 yards and include strong-hand only, support-hand only, and various firing positions, including firing from behind cover. All strings of fire are timed. 3 magazines are recommended. Revolver shooters are welcome also.

Those who have completed the Pistol Skill builder Course of Fire may participate in the Practical Stage. The Practical Stage will involve applying the skills learned in the Pistol League in a practical exercise. Shooters will engage up to nine IDPA targets while using cover, tactical movement, and proper reloads. IDPA scoring will be used.

With our current ammunition situation we will be running this portion as two 25 round course of fire for those who want to conserve their supply. We will fire the first 25 round and for those who wish to continue the second 25 round will be the same as the first except in reverse order.

Always keep the firearm unloaded until ready to use (until instructed to load and make ready)

Always keep your finger out of the trigger guard until ready to shoot (your sights are on the target)
